Pignose Detonator Effects Pedal
Excellent for harmonica. Just a great classic rock distortion sound. The Detonator S.P. distortion/power boost unit starts with the basic "Pignose Sound" and ultimately produces a pedal capable of some of the most rich, intense and hellacious distortion tones possible.
There's more: when the playing situation calls for you to step out, the Detonator S.P. explodes with an extra power boost to get that sound over the top - this one will shatter windows, scare the animals, and wake up the neighbors!
Batteries not included.
Read the Detonator S.P. Review from a Recent Issue of Guitar World Magazine:
With its brown leatherette covering, hog snout-shaped knobs and decidedly Seventies-retro "Pignose" logo, the Detonator S.P. looks like it could be a novelty pedal for nostalgic old rockers who want to relive the battery- and bong-powered sounds of their wild youth. Actually, the Detonator is a surprisingly useful device for gigging musicians who desire an alternative to overpriced overdrives and dysfunctional distortion.
The Detonator S.P. seems rather lean when it comes to bells and whistles; its spare control set consists of knobs for intensity (gain) and volume and switches for bypass switch and "Extra Snort" (boost). Yet, there is plenty of meat in this porker. The volume control boosts the signal starting at the nine o'clock position, providing a significant boost at its highest setting. The Extra Snort switch boosts the level even further - no more worries about anemic-sounding leads or getting lost in the band's mix when you use this device on stage.
Although the Detonator has no tone controls, it preserves your guitar's natural tone so well - providing just a little extra bass "whoomp" - that extra tone controls would just mess things up. Instead, this pedal operates like extra gain and boost channels that are already part of your amp. If you're happy with your tone but just want more distortion and boost from your amp, the Detonator S.P. is an affordable and convenient alternative to an expensive and possibly irreversible amp mod.
